Psalm 109:21-22, 26-27, 30-31
Faith and Love
Many times people say they believe in God, then the hard times come. They or people close to them experience physical, spiritual, or emotion suffering and the question is where is God?
Saint Paul the Apostle had comething to say about this. He readily acknowledged that he had persecuted anyone who honored Christ as Lord,. It wook a vision of Jesus, and all sorts of sufferings to acknowledge that nothing is going to sereparte us from the love of Christ. This is what he come to believe.
In today’s Gospel, those who were trying to protect Jesus (and not raise the ire of Herod), tell Jesus to leave their town. Do we sometimes do that if faith in word or deed could be embarrassing or dangerous. Jesus didn’t and doesn’t turn his back on us. What we’re called to is faithfulness and to share the love that we have received from God.
