'Spiritual Eye Doctor'
St. Ignatius of Antioch
May the eyes of your hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call...
- Ephesians 1:18
For as long as I can remember, I have struggled to see. Due to poor eyesight, my childhood memories are cloudy with blurry lines. As an adult, I frequently give thanks to God for corrective lenses that allow me to see the world with crispness and clarity.
Yet I wonder: What are the "eyes of my heart" seeing? Where is my gaze fixed? How might my spiritual vision become clearer if I allowed God to be my spiritual eye doctor?
Perhaps, by God's grace, I could see the right order of things. Hopefully, as my trust in God's authority increases, I will more fully appreciate the beauty of God's designs.
