Christmas 2016

Holiday prayer

Dear Friend of the Passionists,

Christmas is a holiday filled with excitement, happiness, hope, peace and tradition. At this time we celebrate the greatest act of love that has occurred, which is God's gift of His only son, Jesus. We also spread the holiday spirit by giving, supporting and cherishing those around us.

There are many things to thank God for during the Christmas season. He has touched many lives in many ways. We give thanks for the people around the world that our Passionist Community has been able to help, physically and spiritually.

During this season of love, I hope you will join us in our Christmas celebrations. We find our work much easier and more pleasant when we know that we have friends working beside us, like you. Your help is of value not just in a physical way, but spiritually and emotionally as well. The prayers and generosity from people like you keep our ministry running.

In the folder that accompanies this letter, you can write all of your prayerful intentions, as well as the names of deceased loved ones you'd like us to remember. They will be included in our community's daily Masses throughout Advent, and in Concelebrated Masses on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the Feast of the Epiphany. I'll also celebrate a special Mass especially for your intentions and those of all our friends and supporters.

If you would like one or more of our Christmas Cards, please indicate your preference on your remittance slip. If you can include a Christmas gift along with your prayers in the form of a financial contribution, it will be a source of many blessings for those we serve.

May your Christmas season be filled with love, peace, and joy, and may you pass those same gifts on to all you meet, just as you have brought them to your Passionist family. May God bless you for your kindness.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Father Edward L. Beck, C.P.
