Fr. James Price, C.P.

Provincial

Fr. James Price, C.P originally from Carbondale, PA. He joined the Passionists in 1983, professed his first vows in 1989, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1994. He served as Parochial Vicar of Immaculate Conception Monastery Parish, Jamaica, NY until 1997. He was Province Vocation Director from 1997 to 2000. He served as Director of the Bishop Molloy Passionist Retreat House, Jamaica, NY from 2000-2006. In 2006 Fr. Jim was elected the First Provincial Consultor, Province of St. Paul of the Cross (Eastern Province) of the Passionists and served in that office until May 2010. Fr. Jim was Rector of St. Ann’s Monastery and Shrine Basilica, Scranton, PA from 2010-2013, then served in Passionist missions in Jamaica, West Indies. He has served as pastor of his home parish of St. Rose of Lima and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Carbondale, PA from 2016- 2020. From 2000 to 2006 Fr. Jim served as Chaplain to the Mary Louis Academy (HS), the NYPD Honor Legion and Community Liaison to the Highway Patrol Unit #3 of the NYPD. From 2001 to 2009, Fr. Jim served as Sunday assistant at Good Shepherd Parish, Marine Park, Brooklyn, NY, St. Helen's Parish, Howard Beach, Queens, NY, St. Kevin's Parish, Flushing, NY, St. Ephrem’s Parish, Brooklyn, NY and Immaculate Conception Parish in Astoria NY. Fr. Jim has been engaged in preaching missions, retreats and scripture study programs. He served as First Provincial Consultor from 2018-2026, while serving as Pastor of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Jamaica, Queens, and was elected Provincial in May 2026.
