Mr. Joseph Geraci

Director of Development & Mission Fulfillment

Mr. Geraci was raised in Queens, NY to a family of first-generation Italian-American parents along with three siblings in a small but comfortable home. After attending public elementary and secondary schools, he enrolled at St. John’s University (SJU) and received a BA in Speech Communications and minor in Business Management. After taking numerous Management graduate credits at SJU, he eventually graduated with an MS degree in Sports Business Management at Adelphi University. As the only member of his family to receive an advanced degree, he credits his faith and his father’s gentle but persistent inspiration for the perseverance to complete a Master’s program years after his undergraduate degree.

Joseph, or “Joe” as he prefers, spent the early part of his career in facilities management which evolved into a proficiency combining facilities work and procurement at his alma mater. With a mentor’s keen encouragement during the 1990’s to explore a career path that more effectively utilized his strong communications skills, Joe eventually left SJU only to return three years later as the Associate Director of Alumni Relations, building his early career in Philanthropy and Advancement. After several years at SJU he was recruited to Adelphi University as the Director of Alumni Relations helping to successfully complete a $56 million capital campaign. At the end of the campaign Joe left to work at Holy Trinity High School as the head of Institutional Advancement, preferring again a faith-based environment. There he led a multi-million dollar campaign to completely renovate the athletic stadium and install the first turf field in the school’s history. After a several year stint at Fontbonne Hall Academy (an all-girls Catholic school) as the head of Advancement, securing the largest gift in the school’s history as part of a capital campaign, Joe was recruited back to his roots in Queens with the Passionists. Here, he will not only head the Philanthropy area of the Provincial Order, but will assist with Mission Fulfillment and advancing a clearer/more public message about how relevant the Passionists are in helping the “crucified” in today’s society. He feels very blessed to be part of this exceptional and selfless institution.
